My creative journey
Magdalena Hill aka Magdalucca is a Polish American multi-media artist currently living in Mallorca, Spain.
"I am a multidisciplinary artist who embarked on my creative journey as a teenager, exploring painting, drawing, poetry, and music. My artistic pursuits led me to study Philosophy of Culture at Wrocław University and live in various European cities, where I delved into different art forms.
In 2004, I immigrated to the US, where I had the opportunity to experiment with photography, animation, and video editing under the mentorship of artist Gary Hill. Over the years, I balanced my artistic passion while working in diverse roles, including a decade-long stint as the head of an international video department.
In 2014, I became a mother, which further fueled my creativity, resulting in the release of my first short music album "The Air Between" in 2018.
2020 became a turning point, leading me to focus more on visual arts. I created a jewelry collection called “Free Polka”, aimed at supporting social causes, and later transitioned into textile abstract art.
Upon moving to Mallorca in 2021, I continued my visual art journey, participating in group shows and collaborating with fellow artists at Art Studio Portals.
Throughout my journey I have also discovered my unique quality of sense synthesis, where letters and numbers are perceived as colors, and images can be translated into music. This unique sensory experience influences my seamless transition between different creative forms, alternative music, visual art and jewelry, allowing me to explore the depth of my artistic expression." ​
