In Mallorca, two predominant olive cultivations exist - the classic green and black olives, which appear in two distinct colors: black and blue, commonly referred to as 'moradas,' a term also meaning 'bruise.'

Similar to plump and juicy 'panssides,' olives in Mallorca are traditionally left on the bushes for an extended period to ripen fully.
